Theres an eel at my lfs, called a ''green river eel''
It looks identical to a ''freshwater'' snowflake moray, but with a greenish tint.
The only thing thats confusing me, is right behind the gill 'hole' that morays have, are these 2 little fins.
any ideas on what it is?

Sounds like an Anguilla species. American Freshwater Eel

just googled it, and it looks like one..not the american though..
I always thought anguilla had a lungfish looking head.

Nope. Anguilla has a fish like head. Much more pointed snout than morays. When adult, it will need SW.

Maybe a European Eel or an Australian Longfinned Eel. And as adults, Eels don't need salt water. They are born in fresh and migrate to salt to breed. (catadroumus) But they can be landlocked like Salmon, Stripers, or Shad, so they don't need a salinity change.
