what to breed cons with?

i have a 29gal that i wanted to use to house a pair of convicts but after seeing a few of the con hybrids and i want to try it for myself. now my question is what could i breed with a con? what would fit in a tank that size? what would make for the best coloration? and what would be better a male con or female con and vice versa with the other fish. i appreciate all of your in fo.

I have heard of con and salvini's. I always thought it would be sweet to have a firemouth convict cross. IDK if that is possible though.

yeah i'm sure a member or two here has con-salvini hybrids. look cool from the pics i've seen.

yea i think i saw a few pics in another thread and i really liked them...but would i be able to keep a con and salvini in a 29gal tank together? and would it be better to get a female con and male salvini or the other way around?
 
i think a con and JD would look really cool but what sex of each should i get and how do you sex a JD? and is it even possible for them to mate? do you have a pics?
