It's been a while since I've posted due to just being plan ass busy and the various site issue we've been dealing with. But I'm back and almost fully focused on the fish game. Right now I'm in the process of closing escrow on a new crib which will finally give me the oppertunity to have a man cave slash fish room and put to use 7 tanks I have collected in two years :WHOA:. Below is the breakdown on the tank sizes
150
135
60
60 Tall
55
35 Tall
10 gallon

I'm thinking of just focusing on one kind of fish. But I'm not sure which fish to dedicate my time, $$$ and time to. Currently I a mixed batch of cichlids including Viejia's, Red Terrors, Oscars and some texas hybrids. What would you do if you had these tanks?

id probably breed the red terrors personally, big fan of the fish just never had a tank truly big enough to handle one

150 - Community tank

135 - Breeding tank for Texas cichlid with a couple of faster tank mates for the male to chase so he doesn't kill the Fm.

Then use rest as grow out tanks/Hospital tanks etc

Or kit one or 2 out with funky dwarf cichlid's - Pelvicachromis taeniatus/Double Red Cockatoos :)

Thanks for the advice fellas, I will consider both options and check out the double red cockatoos.

What I personally would do.....150g African Biotope, heavily planted and drift wood, two African Brown Knife,, One, Elephant nose fish, 1 F delhizi, 1 M delhizi, 1-3 f sens, a school of congo tetras, and maybe some other oddballs african river system fish. 135, breed a larger SA/CA fish. 60 tall, use as a grow out for the fry, 60 and 55, your choosing, maybe a sub-tropical community tank, Corydoras, whatever tetra of your choosing etc. 35 tall, quarantine tank, 10 tall, an african shellie tank, maybe 3-4 shellies in it.

What happened to your Cuban cichlid project? I would breed festae's and Lyonsi's or order a proven fertile Red Texas pair from Thailand (rainnybetta) (Green Texas male x srt/rt female) Probally gonna be alil $pricey$ but you will make your money back no problem! Good luck bro!

I know I'm prolly gonna get flamed but as much as I do like festae I wouldn't choose them just because everyone is trieing to breed them , I would go with Lyonsi or red istlanum , Gramodes , if your into them get your self a nice imported fertile male flowhorn and find you a nice imported fertile female just my 2 cents just saying you'd be better off breeding something that not everyone is .

So the project was going good until I picked up a male cuban about twice the size of the female and he went Ike Turner on her. I seperated her but she died from the wounds, now I'm scared as hell to put my second female in the tank with him.

Agreed Cakilla

I'm really thinking about trying to pull off some crazy looking hyrid and then just sticking to perfecting that type of fish.
