I have a 55 gallon with nothing in it. Does anyone have suggestions on what to breed? I've only bred guppies and mollies before, and I know that doesn't count so this will be my first attempt at breeding fish.
I'm open to anything really, I would prefer something aggressive and/or attractive. It's alright if they will eventually outgrow the 55, I'm getting a larger tank eventually. Something I could make some money from wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Suggestions?

you should do a pair of Firemouths or 2 pairs or Convicts one at each end. personally id go with the FMs

t-bar, nics, gourami, catfish, angels, rams (you could do a couple of pairs), zebra plecs and make some major money but TBH the list could go on and on forever. its whatever you like the look of. I personally view convict breeding like guppy breeding, get a pair add water and wait, its no challenge from what i have seen.

Bartoni seems interesting. I would like to breed a smaller species of snakehead more than anything, but I'm not having any luck finding some in the New England area. I never should've got rid of mine back in the day. Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming.

I think Jewels could be nice in that tank. Firemouths and Cons also make a good intro to cichlid breeding.

I would personally breed a pair of discus. I have mine in a 55 gallon tank. If you want something aggressive I would go with oscars or midas if you are going to get a bigger tank.
