Hi guys,
i have a 60g (40x18x18) with discus and neons in, well these just aint doing it for me so im going to return them to work (my LFS) and use the tank as a breeding tank, so what SA/CA cichlids do you recomened i breed? they must be fairly easy, cos hell i cant even breed convicts right lol, but willing to give it a shot, i was think firemouths or convicts again but is there any thing that will fetch a little more in once thay are ready to sell? thanks Ryan.

Usually the ones that fetch more $ are the ones that are more tricky to breed.
OR
They are too big for that tank.

And considering you can't breed convicts right, you're screwed.
Just kidding.

I would try one that doesnt get any larger than a convict, so that will narrow your choices down.

Try Salvini. I dont know how they are at breeding in captivity.
But they are beautiful fish, dont get larger than Convicts and would probably fetch more $ than Convicts.

Yeh you see my LFS ordered some but never got them delivered as the suppliers were out of stock (ya right) and ive been finding it hard to find one for my big tank let alone a pair, and i can breed cons, i just cant get them to pair up, i got to get a already paired pair. The the male killed the female and my male sev killed him :( so time to try again lol.

mabey jack dempseys?

ebjd pair would fit in that tank and they are pricey

SA Dwarf Chiclids.
You could house a group & let them pair off naturally.
Very pretty, demanding with water quality but get that right & most are willing to breed.

Yeh i was thinking apistograma pundro (spelling) but they are to small for my taste, i think it is heading towards firemouths.

Buy a few of both sexes and I can almost guarantee you will have a pair in no time. Then take the remaining ones back to work.
