what to buy

i am giving a 30 gallon setup to my nephew for a month or so to see if he can keep up on the maintenance and care. if he does he'll get a 55 gallon. my mother is giving up 3 platinum white angel fish (thats what the breeder called them). any suggestions on some tank mates.

Hi, Angle fish of any kind are very timid and peaceful fish. They are very compatible with any kind of fish that is not the bullying type. They go very well along with 'Goldfish', 'Silver Dollar', and 'Minnows'. They are also fine with Glass fish, but Glass fish can be sometimes snap if they are bothered.

I wouldn't get any goldfish or minnows. I'd suggest three small cories. They're cute and very gentle.

corys are good tankmates to them, calm and peacefull.
But instead of angels now, to see if he can take care, why don't small others, like some tetras, goldfishes, silver dollars.

ANGELFISH EAT SMALL FISH!! They are ambush predators in the wild and will kill and eat any small fish!
