Well I am going to petco and I am buying a 10g for a pacman frog and I was thinking of buying a 40g. What do you guys think I should get? Sadly snakes are not an option DDD: My dad is deathly afraid of snakes....:( But lizards , turtles and frogs are a go. :) I prefer lizards and I would like something affectionate. Or something that would let me hold him. Thanks

No one has any suggestions?

Turtle wise, the only ones suited for a 40G would be mud or musk turtles. The guideline for turtle keeping is 10G of water per inch of turtle, so a single 4" turtle would work (and a lot of mud/musk species stay around that size).

I think I am gonna go with Leopard Gecko they seem cool. How many could I have in a 40g? a male and female? Also if I could get a snake what would be good in a 40g for life. Or at least a while. Thanks

I think the minimum for one leo is 15 - 20 gal, so I'd say two would be safe, but don't quote me on that.

As for snakes, 40 gal is the perfect size for an adult ball python. I think that might be good for an emerald boa too, but again, not really sure about that.
