Please help me, i don`t know what to choose for my 140g (160 cm long, 55 cm wide, 60 cm high) single species tank. i have been thinking of either tangs, trigger or volitan. It is important that they are interesting and fun so i dont get bored with it.thank`s for suggestion.

Depends on what your into.

If you want puppy dog like, always ready to eat, and low maintenece...I'd go with a Lionfish. But not real active.

If you want to impress and stick feed, Eels, but they hide alot.

If you want activity, go with Tangs or Tusks.

If you want a single large colorful showpiece I'd go with a Large Angel.

Hope that helps.

Remember you can add some color and activity with a group of chromis or damsels to any one showpiece.

For a 140gal single species tank, I would go with triggers or volitans lions. A group of lions can be very spectacular, but not very active. A single large trigger would be very colorful and active, but it's hard to find one that is large enough to devote a whole tank to. I would buy juveniles of several species and raise them up together and then decide on which are your favorites and thin them out as they get larger. I personally would go with a large clown trigger and your 140 would be a great size for one.

single sepcies or single animal?
get a school of bannerfish. i think they're the sh*t!
yeah a clown trigger or somekind of puffer is probably best.
a small shark? not very active and you'd probably need a bigger tank soon.

for a single species tank I would choose a large angel... like mac's angel... or a trigger fish like clown trigger , which will be just like a oscar...recognizing you , moving the gravel or sand and being colorfull itself...
In a 140 gal tank... you can put both and enjoy an excellent tank with two jewels swiming to you...

groupers too.

Puffers are my favorite, they are large interesting affectionate fish
