Ok, so I've grown some spawns up to the point they were sellable. Yellow Labs, not a super high demand fish. 2 of the three lfs wont take them, and I was lucky enough to find a craigslist buyer to take most of them off my hands. Now what?

What I'm really asking those of you breeders out there, especially you CA breeders who deal with hundreds of fish: What do you do after the "prime pick'ins" have been taken off your hands, and all your left with is sub-par (runts, less color, e.g. less desirable) fish?

I think the word you're looking for is cull. Lol. Sounds cruel but breeders of quality koi consistantly cull 90-95% of hatched fry. Or you could buy yourself a RTC and keep him as a more circle-of-life-esque way to thin the herd.

I realize that, I was just curious what others did. Took the 5 labs I had left, identified two males and bleached them, then took the 3 other females and put them in the main tank. I don't plan to grow out any more of the labs, but I can still use the just-spit fry as feeders for my angels. Just the 5 I had left were already almost 2" and much too big for feeders of my stock. Redirecting my breeding attention to my Ruby Red and Ruby Red x Rubescene Clown peacocks, at least until I can find some female Fusco's. Having a hard enough time locating anyone who sells them, I think they may be a more challenging breed and potentially lucrative too.
