I have a 90 gal tank with an FX5 and an Emperor 400 (the emperor 400 is about 3 years old an a POS. The FX5 is brand new, found a sweet deal thanks to someone who posted a link on here!). Anyway, I had a Red Devil for about 8 years who recently passed. He was a beast--about 13".

Now, I can't decide what to do. I have the two filters running and there is a common pleco and two snails (probably 100 babies now) in it, but I have no idea what I want to stock with it or a theme. I was thinking about getting a 3D insert and doing some Africans with crushed coral sand. I've considered getting another Red Devil. I kinda want to do a tank with a pleasing to the eye look that has more than 1 fish it.

Oh well, I don't really expect to get a lot of help on this. I'm frustrated that my fish died and now there are countless options for what to do.

well, I suppose if you were tired of the single fish deal then africans would be your best bet seeing as you just got a FX5. But there is always the option to wipe the slate clean get the proper gear and do a planted tank. That would be a bit spendy though.

You could always just select another single tank buster. Just something a little different.

I would go with another tank buster like before. Could be something different, could be the same like how you had it. All on you and what you like more.

You may end up dissappointed with the africans after having a RD wet pet for so long. Not as personable IME

A more exotic amph. sp would work.

Bichirs! Thats what I did with my 90 and I love it.

Think about large American cichlids with personalities?

Honestly it's hard thinking about getting another fish like the one I had before. One thing I didn't mention was that the tank is set up @ my office (family business). I thought about a planted tank, but a 90 gal planted would need more attention than I could give it I think @ work. I'm arranging to get a 18 gal to do a planted @ home.

thanks for the ideas from everyone. I figured this would be a good forum to vent a little.
