What to do when a raccoon attacks your fish tanks

I know this probably belongs in another area but it was my bichir tank so....

Well I had an interesting day today, I was at the dentist and my phone started to blow up so when the dentist took a break I looked at my phone and I had several text messages telling me to get home ASAP so I ask whats going on and I get this message back "There is a Raccoon in the house. It's hiding behind your aquarium. There is damage to your stuff" Needless to say my response was WTF! Apparently it fell through the ceiling and they opened a door and of course the raccoon said screw that and ran past the door and behind my tanks destroying the stand my 2 magnum 350s were on causing hoses to come off spraying water and unplugging stuff. Luckily only the furniture was ruined and my fish were freaked out, they were still hiding when I got home.

Needless to say we now have a protocol of what to do if a raccoon attacks my fish tanks

Hard to believe. But a good story to tell one day again some other fishkeepers.

yeah crazy stuff just seems to happen to me for some reason. If you look to the right of the hole in the ceiling you will see the patched spot from the last raccoon that fell through last september

We have squirrel problem here. Seeing your pics also allow me to have protocol if squirrel attack my tank.

That might be stale raccoon piss soaking through.... check for babies and try to find where it was getting in from. I had a possum invasion years ago, but dogs got him b4 he could get to the fish lol. some things you just can't prepare for....

the thing is there was 2 raccoons 1 was able to get back in the hole wildlife control told us to stick a radio up there and blare heavy metal during the day to annoy them into leaving

Damn that is crazy, i dont like harming other animal but if it attack my pets or anyone in my house its going to die.

apparently one of my roommates and the maintenance man hit it several times with the fireplace poker and it didn't affect it at all(I just learned this)
