So i am in process of resrtucturing and should have 3 spare 125 gallons up and running. I have kept many different cichlids in the past but currently only have a festae pair. I am looking to keep pairs that will work in a 125, nothing bigger and I want something with a personality.

The Options:

Grammodes- Beautiful but they grow so slow, and in my past experience they did not have great personailty
Something Parachomis. What is everyones favorite pairs? I was thinking RTM or Jag
Labiatus or Midas
Texas cichlid
Cuban Cichlid
Istlanum

What 3 would you pick?

Istlatum, RTM's and a real good quality pair of texas

You have so many other options in Central American alone, although you already have the best (Festae)

X2 on the freddies, always wanted to get some.texas great colors some are personable.you can't beat amphilophus for personality.how about a pair of trimacs?

RTM's, Argentea are two that the fry would be worth something because they dont seem to be flooded in the fish world.

I'd vote for Trimacs, Jags, and then a breeding pair of crenicichla (Not sure which one)

Argentea
Haitiensis
Freddy La Ceiba
Bartoni (can't beat those breeding colors especially since you are going for pairs)
Istlanum

(personally, I'd do Haits.....They're just crazy)

Some great ideas. I have not considered Argentea or Bartoni yet, does anyone have adult pics? No grammodes lovers? I have never had luck with my previous pairs growth rate, or personality but I was looking at RuckFules posting and LOVED his old pair. What are the odds of me getting a pair like that?

Rapps currently has regular Freddy's. Is it a big difference between them and La ceiba? if any has pics of both I would greatly appreciate seeing a comparision
