what should I stock in a 85 gallon and a 55 gallon. For the 85 gallon I want to keep some cichlids and eventually try at breeding them. And the 55 gallon I want to do a native tank. Stocking Ideas?:nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:

What are the dimensions on the 85, that's a new size for me. As for the 55 and natives, you could have madtoms and maybe some smaller sunfish species. Killies are always cool if you can get them. If you wanted to use the bigger tank for natives a pickerel would be pretty cool.

you should give them to me.

no?

oh well, I say some samller cichlids for the 55 and maybe a jag and some loaches for the 85

85 does sound strange, never seen that before...but I'd still go with a SA cichlid community of acaras, festivums, and maybe sevs or chocolate

I forgot to get the dimensions, will in the morning. it was sold as a 75 gallon but then I measured it and even used the thickness of the glass. Its as long as my 55 gallon but taller and wider then the 55

Sounds like it might be a 90. They are the length of a 55, but 6" wider and 2" taller

i'm not sure of the native fish you have around there but bluegill and sunfish are more agressive than you would think. If u have them there...

agree, the sunfish tank will end up having to be managed similarly to say, similarly sized CA cichlids when it comes to aggression
