i have a 90 gallon tank i would like to put my jag in. But i dont have a lot of money so i dont want to go spend a bung of money on a filter i have a unused 30 gal tank is that big enough to make a sump pump for my 90gal

Yes, a 30 gallon is plenty for a sump on a 90. My concern would be the jag in the 90 for an extended period of time, perfect time for an upgrade 
well the 90gal is a huge upgrade he is in a 30gal now and the 90 is going to be a temp home while i build my own i am at a total loss at what to do if you could give me pointers on build the sump i would really appreciate it
