Long story short, I unexpectedly have a breeding pair of JDs. They are on their first batch. I could just wait until they have they next batch and they will eat the older babies, but I would rather not have that happen. Also I cat separate them; I have only one tank and couldn't bare to think of passing along either Jack or Blacky. I am way to attached to them both. Now I have lots of baby JDs and not the slightest clue what to do with them. No one that I know could take them, and I can only pass so many off on my not-so-local fish store. Suggestions?

You don't really have many choices... Either use them as feeders for other fish, leave them in the tank (I wouldn't do it, even if they eat most of them some might survive and crowd up your tank) or if you're lucky to find a LFS that wants a constant supply of JD babies (I doubt it since they're so common), that would work too. That's the problem with breeding pairs, 90% of people have no way of getting rid of the fry and they will never stop spawning unless one dies or you separate them... removing the fry will speed up the process and they will spawn again in as little as a week (also removing the fry might cause your pair to injure each other).

Its not ideal but setting up another tank in the interim may be the best option. If not you could just kill the fry if its that bad.

Not ideal situations but hopefully someone will come along and take them off your hands.

Yes as was said that is the main promblem with breeding pairs of oh so common fish. Forget selling them just give them away if some store will take them.
