The tat is doing worse and worse and is getting pieces of its tail bitten out (already lost an eye), although it's not missing any scales nor does it have any other body damage, including missing scales. :irked:

It still won't eat anything but live and is looking really skinny. Do you think I should just start feeding it live more so it gets in good condition and then start to try to get it to eat other things or should I move it?

The problem with moving it is to where? I need to move the jar, flagtail and tinfoil barbs out of the 20 gallon into a 55 that I just got rid of all the inhabitants of (minus a beat up Petsmart "Trimac" that's in a divided partition, but it can be moved). I was going to move the trimac into the 20g and use it as a quarantine tank, but I'm thinking I'm going to need to set up my 55 instead, but I don't really want to as I was going to sell it and would need to buy more filters. Would it be safe for the tat in the 55 w/ the jar, etc. or should I do something different (I know i'm screwed if the jardini turns mean)?

PLZ HELP!

you could try it in the 55 but watch them close the jardini would be your main concern the others shouldn't be a problem mabye the flag tail but the barbs are fine but that jar would most likely fight with so make absolutely sure you have a back up plan

are you going to set up more tanks? if so i'd try and sell the 55 and get a 75 much better tank for fish you listed but you may have to set up the 55 if the jar and the payara don't get along then i would divide the tank and set up the 55 or get another tank which

i say divider, or feed ur tat live to get him healthy

thx for the advice.

my plan is to take down the 20-gal and 2.5-gal and set up my other 55-gal and 10-gal. I would use the 20 instead of the 10, but the 20 won't fit on the table I use for a stand for the 55-gal. I just don't have the room for any more tanks. I do plan on getting a 75 to replace one of the 55's, though. I actually found a free 75 w/ stand, but it was gone by the time I saw the ad on CL.

I fed some feeders to the tank tonight and the tat ate 2 of them. I think I am going to divide the newly set up 55 in half and put the tat on one side and the "trimac" on the other and use the 10 for a temporary growout for the sen, botias and loaches. when the tat is nice and healthy, I'm going to try it in the 210 again and I will get rid of the trimac when it heals up. going to get rid of one of the jags soon, too.

got the 55 set up w/ an established filter and some old water and put the tat in one half and the "trimac" in the other. put feeders in with the payara so it can eat whenever it wants.

couple more questions: should I have extra current (besides, the filter, like a powerhead) in the water or not? any decor? right now, it's a bare bottom w/ nothing in it but river rocks to hold the bottom of the flimsy divider in place

for decor, its really up to you.
but ive noticed that in new tats, they like to hide.
but once theyre used to the tank theyll be swimming around.
i'd add current.
it'll grow faster.

Thank you. Its' more of a quarantine tank, so I don't want too much going on in there, but I have a big rock I can throw in that it can hide behind. I have an in-tank filter in there right now that makes SOME current, but as soon as the other filter seeds, I'm going to take it out, put it in another tank and put the AC 70 powerhead from the other tank in there. I'll just keep feeders in there all the time so hopefully it will eat a lot and grow quickly. Hopefully, I can find some huge livebearers that will be too big for it to eat so they can produce feeders in the tank.
