My JDs layed eggs and they hatched yesterday. I siphoned out about 50 of the little wigglers because all of their previous batches vanished the second day. I have a few questions as to when to feed them. Will they be fine without food until they are free swimming, or should I feed them now? I have some fry food as well as crushed flakes waiting for them.

Any other advice will be great.
Thanks!

same food for allmost every fry.....finely grinded flakes/pellets...
works for my guppy and jag fry

wait till they are free swimming and feed ground up flake or pellet. Put some pellet in a peppermill and grind it on the fine setting. kensfish.com has some good economical fry food also. www.wetthumbaquatics.com also has some good fry meal and fry crumbles in different sizes that is high in protien and will help your fry grow quicker.

next time take the eggs out after the second day and place them in a 20 gallon with an air stone. then place an sponge filter in with them when the wiggle. I get more fry that way. the white eggs that turn to fungur will get eaten. yes feed them some powered fish food first bites etc. they will grow differently some get bigger than others, try to feed them 3-4 times aday run your lights alittle more often.
gl and hey nice fish i would trade you some babies if you were not so far away
