I have a spare 20 gallon I was using for saltwater before I broke it down. I'm looking at making it into a sweet freshwater community tank. I know a lot of people dislike threads like this but I am just looking for other peoples suggestions to help me decide what I want. Any help would be appreciated.

Do a nice planted tank with shrimp. Get some decent ones and within a few months you'll have hundreds and they sell well ;)

Is it a 20 long or no?

I like Hendre's suggestion. If you do it densely planted with moss and other baby shrimp hiding places you can keep other fish in there, too. As long as you're OK with some shrimplets being eaten.

I have mine with a big school of chili rasboras, Scarlet Badis, and pygmy cory, and they were breeding without issues. I've since changed it up slightly due to a fish needing a different home, but there are other small fish you could do in there as well.

You could also do dwarf puffers with freshwater gobies, or otos.

I second the shell dweller idea!

If you were able, planted neon tetra tank would look really dope. As previously stated, quarantine (hospital) tank would be a good idea or you could use it as a really fancy sump for a wet/dry filter.
