so ive made a small plexi glass tank probablly about 3 or 4 gallons with a built in filter and a ramp with basking dock that i can fill with sand or make as an elevated pool, except theres no way for the water in the pool to reach the filter so i like the sand idea better. Question is now what do i put in it? there is silicone all over the place inside the tank, as it was very messing seeing as it was my first build and i was just playing around. what do you guys think would be good for it?

the track doesnt go all the way to the bottom, he would be able to get up to the sandy area, good thought though, thanks

sounds good, one question though, its not completely enclosed, couldnt the frogs climb out?.... what does anyone think about salamanders?

Most salamanders can climb glass too. Word of warning: silicone seals will eventually come loose from the plexi. You might want to either keep it dry or rebuild it with Weld-On.

ah good call, where can i get the weld on stuff and are there instructions that come with it

I had to order some from a place in San Diego, but you might be able to buy it from a plastics shop if you have one locally. It comes with some instructions, but you should also look through some of the acrylic tank builds in the DIY section here on MFK. The main thing to remember is that all your edges need to be straight and smooth to get good joins. The Weld-On is a solvent, not a glue; it actually slightly dissolves the two pieces of plastic then allows them to meld together into one piece.

you could have crickets or some other small insect that cant fly in the sand (or whatever you decide to use) area and a beta, dwarf croacking gourami, or some other fish that can live in a very small tank living in the water area. I hope this helps:)
