So a co-worker had a 8-10 bowfront and he just gave it to me. Wife wants to put the male and female bettas in which is fine. But what else should I toss in?

Crayfish will eat the bettas. I want something compatible with with them

Don't know how well it will work out with the male and female together in the same tank. Better have lots of places for the female to hide or else the male will end up killing her. Female bettas can be kept together. Males must be housed separately. Male and female should only be kept together during spawning.

Well I do know that but these 2 have been together along with the other male and female I have. The pairs are in separate from tanks and are fine. One pair has made a bubble nest and I'm just waiting on that now. I'm shocked the males haven't killed the females aswell but it's just one of those times when something works

How bout neons glowlights or zebra danios stay away from barbs in my experience all barbs will nip at their long fins

If you can get them large enough, CRS are beautiful. Otherwise I'd do some endlers or some rasboras, I'd be wary of tetras because with those betta fins, they'll chomp away
