My male con is beating the crap out of the female in his tank. should i just keep waiting it out or possibly return her and maybe buy a bigger and badder female con that can actually stand up for herself? he seems ready to spawn but she is having nothing to do with it. will he pair with a new one?

Take the male out, Re-arrange the decors, Let her get comfortable and recover a bit(Atleast a week, two would be a lot better.), then when she looks ready re-introduce the male to the tank.

If you let it continue you can possibly lose your female..

well i just gave her away and bought a bigger one thats holding its own against the male. looks like they should be fine together now thanks

it would help to know what size tank they are in now . . .

bigger tank might be the answer, because if you are just re-arranging, say, a 10G tank, it won't make much difference

in a 30g. when the female and male lock lips is that possible spawning behavior? cuz the new one i put in there is locked with my male already and i dont know if thats good or bad ha

may be spawning or may be territoral or may be a pecking order there working out. as long as you dont have one hiding after the lip locking you should be fine
