What are most of you going to do with your Gars or any of the other fish when they get to big for your tanks?
 
most of the smaller gar species, which are what most people keep, do fine enough in 180gs; tanks which they have/are easily capable of getting.
 
Get a bigger tank.-Anne
 
Trade them off.
 
I have what I think is a spotted gar.. and he will be moved into a tank 36" wide when the time comes.. and if I feel he needs more it will be provided.....
 
I don't get fish that I know will outgrow my tanks. Then again, my current largest tank is 650gals and we're constructing 4 2000gal raceways (26ft x 5ft x 2ft). Of course, I realize my limiting factor on the raceways is the 5ft width. So, no FW sawfish, gator gars, etc.

when you say fw sawfish, do you mean paddlefish? or is it a different fish?
