A friend of my dads is getting out of the hobby and I might be able to get a free 29 gallon tank column tank, what would you do with it? Im thinking a pair of discus some cardinal tetras and the huge pleco... I want to know that you would do with it? Im open to anything...

Which have a ~12" x 12" base?

Darn small for any fish.
I'd go for peaceful community tropical fish.
Tetras. Rainbows. Danios.
How about a mix of Boesemani Rainbows 3" and Danios 2-3"?

Honestly I think the rainbows get too big and are pretty active..I really think the only thing that could go in a small tank like that and be 'comfy' would be tiny fish...

The base is bigger than a foot I think its 18x18, idk for sure... So no on the discus?
