I have a 55gal with a Oscar,Red Devil(Someone told me it was a Red Terror cause it has stripes),Texas Cichlid, and a Hydrolycus tatauaia all are a little over an inch.
1)I was wonderin could I put some live plants in with these guys?
2)If so what could I put in?
3)Could I just use rocks, dirt or a mixture?

You can do live plants if you want to be replanting all the time as they get bigger more then likely they will dig.

you can put rocks and stuff in it, but no no to live plants, and accually before you do anything don't bother, because your in seious need of a tank upgrade

You can have plants with these fish. Stick to plants that are rooted onto rocks, or wood. Java fern, java moss, bolbitis ferns, and anubias all will be good selections.

Stick with fake, easier to stick back into the gravel when the oscar redecorates.

Live plants are much better, in the case of cichlids, it is best to have them rooted to wood or rock as I already stated. Not many cichlids can tear them off of rock. Live plants will not do anything for you really. Live plants will help get your nitrates down.
