Nothing you can really do its his money, his tank. You can lead a horse to water bt you cant force it to drink.
Friends shouldn't compete at things like this, and it sounds like it's gonna be bad on his wallet and all the fish. My friends and I GIVE each other tanks ,filters and even fish, I learned to enjoy my friends tanks just like my own, don't be jealous of each other, just be honest and do whats best for the fish.
So do me and my mates, my friend is breedig his rams in my 30high which is running a eheim filter that belongs to me that he gave me. My brother "stole" my Trimac which is now in his 6ft due to the fact that my 2 oscars are in his 4ft ? (its enlarged), he also came round my house and stole (notice the lack of "marks") 6 corys off me which I planned to sell to a lfs but he 'needed' them for his discus which have since been given away to his mate so now he has 6 of my corys and 3 of my bristle noses in his 55.
The problem here is his friend wont listen and if they choose not to listen there not much you can do.
