Okay well I made a post about building a tank in the summer. I found a 150 at pet smart that's on sale, it's standard 4/2/30 or whatever I'm pretty sure. They also had a 125. If I was to just buy s tank instead of building, what would be best? I have a lap bichir and I would like to keep him in either for life, if he would be comfortable in either. Probably just gonna get a single big cichlid and other tropical fish, and more bichirs if it's possible. Any opinions appreciated thank you

foot print, 125 well have the larger foot print. I like tall tanks but not at the expense of a larger foot print. go with the 125. 6ft. and upgrade be a 145.

If the bichirs are going to be the main attraction i'd get the 150 with the 2 ft width. Will give them plenty of turning room and you probably be able to keep most of the lower jaws in there.

Med size cichlid should do fine but i would research what ever you choose. I'd stay away from aggressive eaters like oscars, pearsei ect. Feedings just become a headache

I really like the 150. And yeah the bichirs are gonna be main attraction. Thanks for input I'm probably gonna go see if they have any left, or other tanks. I will post pics when everything goes down

Looking forward to seeing the pics. I have a 150 18" wide and am upgrading just for that reason. Dont think the width will be good long term

Well I just talked to a lady about a 48*36*27 200 gallon. It was saltwater but I'm gonna make it freshwater, has a 75 g sump stand and canopy. I got her to sell it for 600 hopefully picking it up Sunday.
