lots of eggs! the male got really aggressive after she laid some eggs. i had to remove her because he didn't even let her finish laying them. will he take care of em properly and will the fish look like?

I disagree,
If the male was really aggressive and start beatn on the female, more than likely he would not have fertalized the eggs and quite possibly eaten them.

Agree. That's what I would gather. This is another reason why you see people breeding large males to smaller females. To make sure he's mature.

And being honest with you it's FH x RD.. So likely you're not making anything great looking if you're not going to be in/line breeding for a couple generations. So if they didn't fertilize I wouldn't take it as a big deal.

it was more of a test. i wanted to see if he would fertilize the eggs. hes taking care of em so i think he might have. he tore alot of her fins after she laid some eggs and kept beating her up. so i took her out so he wouldnt kill her.

sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. maybe he did fertilize the eggs. I would have done similar. I will divide the parents and then wait a hour or so and let them rejoin and if they still fight then remove the eggs and hatch them yourself.
