Just picked up two little guys (zonatum and 'la ceiba' yellow head) both about 1" long. I've never dealt with fish this small really and usually when I have fry in my tanks they just lived off left over scarps. Was wondering what would be good to feed them, I think they're too small for pellets. Flake food for now maybe?

*Yes I know I should be posting pics but my dad just left for L.A. on business and he took my camera with him :nilly:

Edit: 2 mins into the tank and the yellow head already took a dump haha

At that size bloodworms, brine shrimp and spirulina flakes have worked for me.

i would get him into the habbit of eating flakes
and also bloodworms brine shrimp mycis shrimp
and you can also try mushing up market shrimp

hey, make sure you get lots of veggie based foods in there diet otherwise they look bad when older.

I picked up a couple yellowheads from Ken and started them with 1mm NLS Thera+A pellets. They didn't have any problems eating the NLS at 1".

Good luck with them, I'm really happy with mine.

im feeding my 1" h. psittacus crushed flakes, broken up shrimp pellets and micro pellets. they are little pigs and always wanting more, even when their stomachs are huge!
