What are you guys feeding your Jardini? I just got mines today. Its about 4 inches and its in a 180 gallon tank. Should i place it in my 55 Gallon or will it be ok in my 180. The petsore that i got it from was feeding it pellets and flakes. Everywhere else would just feed the arowana feeders.

What should i bee feeding my arowana? thanks

Hi. I also have a Jardini, around 4 years old. I started him on feeder guppies and graduated to frozen anchovies and squid after a month. They grow quite slow compared to say silvers, but then, I only feed twice a week.

jusmad: feed yours more than twice a week (like twice a day) until he's at least 8" long. Young aros are predominantly insectivores so, offer the jar baby crickets. You can feed the crickets some good quality, high-protein flake foods and offer the crickets 'gut-loaded". Mealworms may cause some abdominal trouble from the thicker exoskeleton. FH pellets and aro sticks can also be offered along with feeder guppies/zebras/rosies. Gut-load the fish, too.

Thanks for the input. It hasn't eaten yet but that could be because of the initial change and shock of being moved. Do you think it will be alright in such a big tank right away? thanks
