Hey Guys!

So I have a Ripsaw Catfish about 6in which is doing really well. I have been feeding him a stable of Hikari Carnivore Sinking pellets. Problem is I recently picked up a pair of Red Bay Snooks who gobble up as many pellets as they can, getting all of them before they reach the bottom. They like to store all the pellets in their mouth and swallow them later, so there is no pause between grabs. Is there any staple food I could feed my ripsaw that would be too big for the snooks to grab? He doesn't feed at the top only off the bottom so I need something that sinks and that can be given on a daily basis. FYI: the Snooks are 5-6in themselves.

I have the same problem with my sun catfish exept my shrimp wont reach the bottom and I have not found a solution , hopefully someone chimes in with an answer

In the past I have used a tube and put food down it to feed the guy's on the bottom, wail feeding the guy's on top at the same time,, something like that may work for you.

Wow didn't think about that, will give it a try. Any ideas of just a better food I can feed consistently that is too big for the snooks? Not really sure if the Hikari sinking carnivore is ok for my cat

I will try that. but I could see my cichlids learning about the tube and intercepting the food

There are 2 different ways i go about feeding my Niger, one is feed my snooks until they can't fit anymore in their mouths, then i'll drop in the Massavore for the Niger.. The second way is if i feed with the lights off in my tank it seems like the snooks and other fish aren't as aggressive eaters and the Niger is way more aggressive eating this way.. Not sure if that helps much but it's what works for me..

this is how I usually feed my knife fish , lightsout

Gonna try lights out tonight. I would be afraid to stuff my snooks because they already look like they are going to pop after a feeding because they grab everything like it is their last meal!
