I bought a little anole

and he looks to be very thin

and just wondering what I should feed him?

i kept them when i was younger and once put to many crickets in the cage and came back a few hours later to find it eaten by the crickets... :irked:

crickets.. they make food for them but they will not eat it, they only eat insects. and they wont drink water from a water bowl. you have to mist it and they will drink it off the side of the tank. they are really good at escaping

ok thank you!

do you know if blood worms are ok for them?

I was desperate and thats the only thing i had so i tried it and he actually ate some, seemed to like it too

Green anoles need live food. They go after movement and won't usually eat anything dead. Your guy might be dehydrated. Mist his cage and the glass of the tank and hopefully he'll drink it up.

the Green Anoles run loose in the environment here in Hawaii. They eat live insects. This would include small Beatles, things that fly, small butterflies, etc. I would think that live crickets would work and meal worms.

When I was a kid I use to catch the Anoles and if they were small enough I would feed them to my Oscars as well as a gecko or two. I know it might be considered cruel, but it was fascinating to see the web of life in action.

hells ya h20 i still catch some of the brown anoles out in my yard and feed them to my O...its great what reptiles are roaming free here (sad no real big geckos...like leopards and such) got to love hawaii's forests, valleys, and streams definately a haven for reptile life.
