ive been feeding it small guppies, pellets, and blood worms.
it eats time to time but not as much as it should. what else do they eat??

Are you feeding freeze dried or frozen blood worms?

Realize with the tankmates it may be stressed or scared to eat. Especially if it seen it's brother get chomped:WHOA:

any nutritional benefits or negative affects between freeze dried and frozen bloodworms? ive heard that live bloodworms may carry parasites... does this apply to freezedried and frozen?

dont know never had any problems

Id recommend not feeding the guppies. No nutritional value and carries the risks of diseases.

i think the diet theyre on is pretty good, just dont feed it too much protein or it will get DE in the long run :(
also try cut up earthworms

I think DE is due to genetics and feeding it fatty or food high in protein wouldn't matter. But I usually feed my baby arowanas raw shrimp, crickets, krill, Hikiri brand, bloodworms/blackworms, nightcrawlers (chopped) and they all usually take it.

Fd shrimp was the first thing my baby started eating after I got him. He started eating everything after that.

Advantage of freeze dryed is that they float and are soft. Excellent first food for silver or black arowanas.
