mine's pretty picky with his food. eats wafers as as staple, along with grape and kiwi... I'm trying to introduce greens such as collard green, mustard green, dandelion green and kale but so far he simply takes a nip and spit them out.

I've been leaving the leaves in the tank overnight, and even though it get devoured by someone, I'm not sure if it's the turtle that's been eating it... probably the pleco though.

I think as with any animal, if it gets hungry enough, it'll eat anything.

I also feed live blackworms to my fish, and the turtle will snack on those too... it's actually one of his favorites.

Hey, nice pick-up! I just got a 3 incher out here in Toronto. I have been feeding mine some Hikari cichlid pellets. They have about 35% protein and some fiber too thats supposed to be good for them. I am going to try to introduce it to other types of food soon. Watch out that you dont feed too much protein or you could end up with shell deformities. I've been thinking about substrate also. I know they love to dig around in it but I am afraid of buying the wrong kind. If its too course it will irritate their belly's. And I want to keep the water quality good and worry about crap getting stuck in the substrate.

All of thouse have alot of phosphorus wich is harmfull to the calcium balance and then lead to bone desiase, so only as complements. As mature turts it can make a more substancial part. Also grape seeds can be a hazard for a small turtle so no deseed the grapess;)
