What to feed calvus for maximum growth potential?

I got two 1" alto. calvus' in a 75g all to themselves. They have enormous room for puttin' on some size, and I do 30% average waterchanges every week.

So far I only have flake food available and I need to know what else can I feed them?

1. I heard brine shimp?
2. What about blood worms?
3. Anything else?
4. How big can I expect them to grow in their first year of life?
5. What temperature do you guys usually set for calvus'?
6. Will they be okay should I want to do a 50% waterchange? I've had some different fish die of temperature shock.

well i have a comp and they arent that much different and when i had him in a 30gal feeding him flake and blood worms he sprouted pretty quick and then when he got big enough to go in the 125 community i put him in there but now its like hes not growing anymore so u can take that for what it is but he eats pellets,flake,and loves blood worms

they grow REALLY slow

I feed my comps soley on NLS Cichlid Pellets.

Seem to be growing faster than average.

best to give them some brine on top of that NLS, live best... they need to chase something live around once in a while since they eat more than veggies....
