I'll soon be moving to a place with no LFS anywhere, they don't like pets where I'm going.

I'll be breeding mollies soon, especially because I now have 2 freshwater cudas, a vampire tetra, and a goliath tiger.

my question is what do I feed molly fry? Will crushed up cichlid pellets do? And what kind of growth rate can I expect for a sailfin molly?

Cheers,
JR

if theyre withen a couple weeks old u need liqifry which is mainly egg white i think haft to check that on google after two weeks grind a good quality flake into a fine powder they'll eat this untill they get big enough for flakes i'm sure chiclid pellets would work but i'd use general flakes (not sure about growth rate i breed neons and danios) FNH.....

e-mail me I'll send you some micro worms. Culturing is easy and great to grow them up. I also have $35 flats of CE for gutloading the adults. It will make your bigger fish very happy and the flat will last forever. drealphabettas @ aol.com

The first bites does work really well, get some high quality flakes and crush them up after a few weeks. The finer and higher quality the better for starting them out. The first bites is the first thing my baby convicts and bettas ate. Several small bubble filters are really important as well, any other filter I've tried sucks them up. :(

i use a sponge on the intake pipe of a reg filter keeps the water cleaner importmant to prevent abnormal growth lost a many fish up the pipe hate finding them later :barf:

thanks for the feedback - do you think since sailfin molly fry is pretty big I culd bypass the liquifry and just feed finely crushed cichlid pellets and flakes? Or would even the sailfins need liquifry for a couple of weeks?

Waldo- thanks very much for the offer, the only thing is I am in England :)
