Hi guys,

I am new to Datnoids. I have a 1000L tank with a couple of silver arowanas and at the moment, have a juvenille datnoid. All the fishes are juvenille so they should fight or eat each other at the moment.

The dat is about an inch in size, first night I had him in my sump and I fed him and he took a small market prawn. Thought the signs were good. But since then, he hasn't eaten a thing. I have moved him up the larger tank and tried to give him prawn but he doesn't eat. I know they starve themselves but I'm a bit worried as this thing is still really juvenille.....

Any tips or hints would be appreciated....

Since it is small, I'll put them in smaller tank away from big fish. I'll try frozen worms or pellets in small amount. If still not eating, I'll give him live worms just to start eating. They say that once the fish start eating, it's a good sign and you'll have to train to eat other foods.

Now I'm in the stage where I want to train one of my IT to eat pellets or smelt instead of the frozen worms. But he's growing each day from eating the frozen worms that I'm afraid to starve him and not growing. Since he takes frozen worms and chasing them all over the tank, he got more stable and has out going personality instead of stucking at the corner like other ITs. Hope this helps.
