Hey this is my first post. I have 3 small leopard ctenopomas that always seem to be hungry no matter what time of day it is. Im just curious what other people have fed their leopard ctenopomas and how often. My guys are almost 2 inches each.
Some only accept live foods, some will take frozen while others will happily take pellets too. For good health and growth, feed them pieces of fish - you can buy whole fish from your local bait store or fillets from a supermarket. Cut to the appropriate size, defrost, wash and throw in.
My 3 (all about 4 inches) eat small Omega One color floating pellets, blood worms, small earth worms, small Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold, and torn up fresh shrimp. They have also eaten flakes, but I don't feed flakes to my fish unless I get free samples from places. Oh, and they will eat small pieces of smelt.
I normally give them ones that I find in the yard, but I will be placing an order with Earthworms organic (they are a member here)- they sell african worms, which require no refrigeration.
