Hey guys so I have started breeding convicts to grow up my own feeder fish. I plan to move them to a separate tank once they have been free swimming for a few days. Then I will be feeding them Hikari First Bites. After they get a bit larger I want to switch them to something else, but I am not sure what that should be. What would be the most beneficial thing to feed them that would benefit my fish that end up eating the feeder fish? Thanks so much!

omega one flakes are good. If you have access to frozen brine shrimp, they'll love that :)

Ok thanks! What about the flakes that supposedly help with fish color? Would that benefit the fish that eat the feeders?

when ity bitty, I use a quality pellet, in my case that's aqueon cichlid pellets and grind them up in a coffee grinder. this all they get tel large enough for first bites. make sure to have a large pre-filter sponge on your intakes, serves 2 purposes, one you do not suck them up, and the other is the fry will feed off it.

Flakes, ground up pellets, frozen brine shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp are what I feed my fry. They'll grow faster with the frozen foods than just flakes.
