wirral
ive had my tank for about 6 months and ive only fed them brine shrimp and the occasional mysis shrimp but i was told if i feed flakes the fish will have brighter colours grow more and become healthier in general?
is this true or is it just a wifes tale?
cheers

depends what fish you have

I feed mysis and brine daily sometimes prawn roe, salmon roe, cyclopeze, formula 2 flakes, nori (seaweed sheets), frozen rotifers.
I have all types of fish and corals I like them to have a variety of food like in the ocean..
As for the fishes color, feed what they eat in the ocean (as close as you can) and the will be healthy and colorful.
On a side note , 90% of people don't feed there tangs enough algae..
They SHOULD have algae available most of the time (algae chips or screens)

great point said ^ variety is the best source but make sure your using marine fish food not freshwater food's and a great brand is Rod's fish food it has a great variety and really helps your fish look there best physically, and also immune system as well.
