My Silver Arowana, All he eats is krill, everytime I put something else in there, he chomps it, spits it out and wont eat untill I put krill in there, I try several types of food, all he likes is krill, I dont think that is a good diet, he is only 3" any other ideas, should I even try to start feeding him different food or what? I am just not sure. List some food, brand names and whatnot ill go purchase and see if he likes. List brand names type of food ect. I will run down to petsmart and buy.

Unless Just freeze dried krill is fine for his everyday food. which I think he is lacking other things not sure. What do you think?

It may not sound humane to many people, but fast him. Let him go 2-4 days without eating anything, and then drop in the food you want him to have as his staple food- I suggest cichlid floating pellets. From then on, he will accept this food.

dont do it it is to small to be doing that! Try brine shrimp and blood worms, the wet frozeen cube kind.

my 3 aros like food sticks blood worms and grass shrimp and rarley we feed them freez dryed shrimp my 3 like all of those try blood worms the first time i tryed it and just 1 arowana ate 4 blood worm cubes! try it i think it will like it

my little guy eats frozen bloodworms, frozen mysis, frozen chopped krill and once in a while he will eat some cichlid gold

You can try feeding her with Hikari Cichlid Bio Gold+ pellet. I tried this on my small silvers before and they grow pretty well purely base on this diet alone.

Yep, I fed mine Hikari Cichlid Gold pellets too and it grew very well. That was also his main diet and I fed him frozen krill as treats only.

What you can try to do is feed it the food you want it to eat, and everytime you see him eat one, give him a piece of the freeze dried krill that he loves so much. Kind of like training a dog to do a trick. He'll realize that if he eats a pellet he gets a treat. Eventually just stop with the treats and he should be used to the pellets by then. I did this with my Oscar and it worked great soI'm hoping Arowanas will be the same.

Be careful not to overfeed though since he is so small. Good Luck!
