what to feed my sveni's???

i would get off the guppies. also once your sveni gets bigger, you would have to feed it alot of guppies and likely migrate to feeding him goldfish. both are gonna increase that chances of introducing disease.

i generally feed my pike bloodworms, frozen mysis shrimp, and frozen krill. i find bloodworms are tough to feed pikes when they are larger, because if they dont attack the cube right away, it disperses into 100 small bloodworms, whihc isnt useful when feeding a bigger pike.

if you can get your pike to eat pellets, id recommend hikari sinking carnivore pellets or hikari massivore delite. same food but massivore pellets are bigger. ive had more success with the sinking pellets than the floating ones.

my sveni was a PITA to get to take pellets. for a good 8months it would only eat freeze dried krill as a staple. itd eat frozen krill and shrimp when i fed as a treat. he just recently started taking pellets, which is a good thing, and putting on some more weight

sinking cichlid pellets work good.

I just got a 3" Sveni couple days ago, and he is really active. He will not eat pellets at all. Eats up the bloodworms quick though. Any tips on getting him to eat pellets?

i attribute my pikes eating pellets because they will see the other fish eating them, i think it helps them know its food.

i think having other fish in the tank that eat pellets will help them start to eat it. especially if some days u just feed pellets and no krill. they'll start feeling left out.

also, its easiest to convert them to pellets when they are small

wow, i must be lucky, i got my first pike today and its a sveni, and the first cichlid pellet i drlopped in the tank, he swam right out and snatched it and several other pellets, i was supprised, so, good for me

I cant get my sevani to eat anything but live :( he wont touch anything unless its liveing.

Went out and bought some freeze dried krill. Feeding time was sucessful, I bought a big tub of the San Fransico Bay Brand. None of the other cichlids will touch it so it should last awhile. He ate two of them and had a pop belly. Is it fine to have my Sveni live off of only Freeze dried krill? I do feed bloodworms about 1-2 times a week too. Hopefully one day he will eat some pellets.

If you want it to eat pellets, stop feeding it other stuff.
