i have just upgraded my pond and i feed my fish floating pond pellets i was just wondering if there was anything else to feed them to give the fish a more varied diet. i have goldfish, orfe, koi, tench and shupumpkins in the pond

They love oranges, watermelon, peas, shrimp, and worms. Just about any fresh fruit and vegetables (except bananas). All of these are very nutritious for them as well. In my experience, some fish will absolutely love some of these, and others will not care for them. Try out a variety to see what your fish like.

Worms of all sorts are a good sorce of protein. Cut market shrimp is also full of protein and my fish love it. Like Cali said, don't forget the fruits and veggies, the Koi will really like these.

just wondering when you feed orange do you peel it ten just put the segments in or peel the skin off the segments as well.
oh and do you feed lettuce

I leave the peel on and they rip the flesh from it. The peel also helps it stay afloat. You can try peeling it to see if they like it better that way.

I have fed lettuce, but head lettuce has basically no nutrients in it.

The goldfish and koi, I would feed them chopped earthworms, extra plant cuttings, vegetable matter, krills and homemade gel foods. What brand are these pellets you are using? What variant are your goldfish?

I requested the staff to have your other thread in the Coldwater section deleted/closed as it is a duplicate. Please keep one thread only to avoid confusion between traffics.

Does the LFS brand pellet come with packaging that has the ingredients listed?

I have see "trout chow" used as the LFS generic brand which is not the best diet for Koi and goldies.
