What to feed...

I am going on vacation for a week and leaving my Gar to my brother (yikes). I have a problem... The feeder puppies are tiiiiny this week at my lfs and the comets are too big for him.... What is a Common cheap fish to feed him safely? Not rosy reds bc they are not allowed in my state. I am putting in some ghost shrimp but what else... Dianos? Small tears? Anything like that ok?

Just get the guppies. It's better to have the prey be a little small than too big; it will eat them if its hungry enough. Anything else other than common feeders fishes will be pretty expensive to feed in the quantity that's needed.

Even the small comets were too big for him he is 4" but he can't eat those ayet... Big guppies work best but they have babies this week for some reason...

Well another problem. He is in a 90 gallon with a tank separator him on one side and a bellycrawler and pleco on the other and there is a little gap so the little guppies escape the Gar to the other side of the tank where he can't go. Should i take you the separator out for just the week?

Do you have a smaller aquarium that you can put it in? It really shouldn't be in an aquarium that large at that size.

May as well set it up now so that it's ready for when you go on vacation so that you don't have to worry about the feeders getting eaten by the other fishes.
