Somewhere lost
So I got a kiddie pool for my turtle and it looks empty with one turtle.
5' in diameter and roughly 6" deep with a rock for basking. They won't be outside under 50 degrees. They will be brought inside when it is cold out. We will be building a turtle pond. We have the horse sold and will be here in till they build a barn. So when he is gone dad said no tropical pond inside it-sigh- so I am going to build a turtle pond outside with a indoor hide or build it inside the barn(he said that was fine which still confuses me). No idea dimensions yet but it won't be smaller then the kiddie pool. If outside it might roughly be an acre and at least 3ft deep. With a 5'x20'x4' indoor hide. Also a fence about 5' around the pond leading to the hide to keep the turtles in. What would you suggest to go with my RES.

any slider-type turtle should be fine... yellowbelly, redbelly, painteds, mississippi maps, etc...

I am thinking eastern and western painted, and a Cumberland slider. Issue is I am not to good with all the turtles I could get. And I know some birds like turtles should I put a net above the pond to keep them out? Also curious, what size tank for a Florida soft shell turtle?
