Hi' Guy's

I'm off to one of my favourite fish shops next thursday and according to their stock list they do have a lot of plecs in. I currently have an l190 / l191
am looking for another plec to go in the same tank with him.

Tank size is 4x2x2 100g, the plec i currently have is about 6inch , i#ve had it for about a year now and its been the only plec in the tank so no
idea how it will get on with other plecs.

I'm after a more active plec (if there is any!:P), one that gets to a decent size and will most likely get on with the plec i currently have.
I do have a 6ft tank inside my insulated shed thats something around 220g+ incase they don't get on.

I've narrowed down their list of plec's to ones i rather like and they all get to a good size they are:
L090
L095
L131
L191
L240

Any recommendations on which one's are more active and likely to get on with the current plec out of the list?

I would tend to agree, It is easier to be sure you are providing for their dietary needs.

This was my reasoning as well. Far to many people providing panaques with a meaty diet. I have L190's and L191's growing 1-2" a year and I've had them 4 years+ and they are turning into amazing fish. Worth the painfully slow growth IMO!

Sticking with Panaques is a great idea but don't limit yourself.
Instead just consider plecs that can hang with a panaques and are vegetarian.
Since your considering a active plec, you may want to look into the orange cheek as it's one of the most active.
Lastly is the royal you currently have L190 or L191. I ask because when i moved my L203's with my L190 they caught what i believe to be panaque plague and i lost all of them except my L190 which is believe to be the host.

ended up getting this plec as i spent the cash intended for the plec on PBass and a new oscar:

Got this plec from pier yesterday, settled in quite nicely and no issues with my current plec:

id say it is a sailfin

the royal is really cool and they are worth the slow growth rate the red eyes are really cool against the green and black body:drool:
