Normally I would just look under lists and such, but if you see how the tank is shaped, along with the fake coral in the center, you realize you have little to work with in area and water volume...and the photos they provide of stocking are a load of bs... So any ideas as to what to put in this? I was looking at a mantis (not sure on what kind yet, would have to find out local availability) until it needed larger, but I don't think it would do good w/o burrows and such after reading. Any ideas/other ideas. I'm really up for anything, single specimens, group, whatever, doesnt even have to be fish, inverts work too. Let me know your ideas,
Thanks

and no I didn't pay retail. I'll get real pics up later when set up, but the tank is at home and I'm at college currently.

I agree :) jellies are the best for a cylindrical tank and you could keep a pair on there as lond as you are careful =]]

maybe hermits or shrimp? or half fill it and do some redclaw/fiddler crabs.

Ditch the fake coral and find a jellyfish :P
I'm not sure if the center comes out, havent been home yet to find out.

I would have to mod the filteration severly, as really nothing could go in there, since it can't bump into anything, nor can the current be too strong and suck it up. Seems like a lot of work, plus I'm having trouble finding info. I'm not ruling it out, but it doesn't seem very likely, plus I don't know how big the commonly available species get yet, or what they are for that matter. I've seen what I assume to be the upside ones, but thier never in good health when for sale.

I was thinking shrimp too, however hardier ones would most likely be the best idea, 5 gallons isn't alot to work with with params...
I really hope I can take that fake coral out...but then I wouldn't know how to hide the filter, although a powerhead and lots of LR could solve that I would think. Don't know about redclaws, as it might look tacky with this "coral" sticking out of the water.

Keep the suggestions coming, and thanks to all that helped so far.

a 5 gallon tank isn't enough for any jellyfish, the only ones availible are moon jellies and upside downs anyways..

a pair of clown or nano gobies would be pretty maximum
maybe through in a small group of sexy shrimp too, they'd do great in there

Clown gobies would be cute in there. I kinda like how colorful that fake stuff is but will probably get stained by algae.

I thought that was most likely the case too, on both accounts. In the future if the center is removable, and if the top can fit it, I was thinking of after more research, retrofitting with leds, then stacking the LR and just making it pico/nano reef...however that won't be for awhile

Yeah, I havent seen mine in person yet, so I'm going to make the judgement call when that happens.

I was looking at Harelequin shrimp, but I don't really want to feed them starfish if they refuse to take other forms of food, so I think they are out. Plus they are pretty expensive anyways.

Harleys are only $20 but will ONLY eat stars.

Not around here that I could find :(...I read some success on them eating other stuff, but so limited, that I know most likely it will be stars.
