My girlfriend loves these little guys so I'm thinking of growing one out in my 20g. When buying an EBJD what are things to look for and look out for? My lfs currently has about 15 of these guys in so I'd like to choose the best one if I do indeed get one!

When buying a new fish I usually look at its eyes, fins, movement, body shape, if it eats, and how it acts in the tank with others.

I usually look at the eyes and fins. Ph is vital with these fish so make sure to keep up on it. I attached a pic of the ones I have. They are very healthy and eat a lot.

bright vibriant coloration compared to it's siblings is a sign of health...

Nice fin shape is typically important to the owner (therefore you define what "nice" is)

Pick the fish that swims around with his dorsal fin (top fin) raised... pick the fish that other fish move for or go around...

If any fish in the tank has white/clear poop don't buy any of them (this is a sign of parasitic infection)

If you stand back and watch the tank for several minutes the fish should show you who the most dominant fish is... and the most dominant fish is generally very healthy (compared to the others).
