So I have an empty, cycled, ready to go, 55 gallon tank. Here's my desire. Two or three larger 'not quite monster large' type fish. I'd rather not go live food so is there something that would work? I have a 90 gallon community with angels, hachets, a nice sized pleco and of course a small school of clowns. I really just want alittle flash without a big ordeal in the other tank. My only hesitation with live food eaters is I do not want to set up a QT. But I'd love an Oscar or something...ok...something that justifies being apart of the Monster family. I have fish envy. I want to swim with the big girls...I'm a girl... not that you are all girls...I mean guys are cool too...:naughty: Just joshing any ideas???:screwy:

A couple of discus, piranha, convicts. Why don't you switch the two tanks up so that you have a 90 for bigger monsters.

Knew that one was coming. Too many fish for 55. Plus six are angels. 55 is all I have open. Discus are b-e-a-u-tiful. Are they tough to keep? She asks knowing that she will spend the next 6 days online researching.:D

I'm currently just starting on keeping discus. I currently have 6 and they seemed to be doing alright. I would say that they are not that hard to keep but definitively not for beginners. Do your research and you will be alright.

"Alburquerque...snorkel...see I can do it too!" National Treasure. I couldn't resist. I'll look up polypterus.

Polypterus are great.
