Well i was going to set up 20g with 8 neon tetras, 8 corys, and a gourami in a well planted tank when i found out that there is a 75g really cheap so im going to try and do that same idea but in a bigger tank. Any ideas like 20 neons, 5 gouramis, and like 16 corys, but anything else that go in that tank?
large school of neons look really cool. im gonna throw out the suggestion of trying to get cardinal tetras instead of neons. basically the same but the cardinals have a longer red band which i think makes them more attractive IMO. id say maybe another school of a different tetra maybe like a rummynose.
To make it easier for you I suggest picking a theme for your tank like South American, Asian, African, etc... and after that you can even go more into detail by picking a specific locale.
i have decided to go with pink kissing gourami, giant danios and tiger botias in my 75. i am guessing about four or five of the gourami and 4/5 of the loaches. i have read that the kissers will get as large as the tank allows and the loaches about 8 inches. but i dont think you should worry about it when they are babies, because all fishkeepers know that not all will survive to monster size. you can see on my profile what i originally started out with...the crayfish and a ick outbreak laid waste to almost all of them. and i thought jewels and oscars were tough...
ya im mixing up the cory species, like getting as many species as i can, some albinos, pandas, peppered, emerald greens, etc. And the only thing about cardinals is that they are way priceyer(sorry not a word) then neons, like i can get like 3 neons for the price on one cardinal, or at least where i live. Im am trying to do a SA look, but the gouramis are not from SA, thats why i didnt want to say that. And Jack give some ideas on some larger gouramis, brochis, and some larger tetras
