If you ran a canister on a FOWLR tank, what would you put in it? I'm thinking carbon, purigen and live rock rubble. Would you run it with the polishing pads?

You can use the filter floss but like any mechanical media, its a nitrate bomb waiting. Just be sure to clean it regularly. Otherwise, your plans sound good.
Regularly and thoroughly. I am so glad I took my canister off this weekend and added a media reactor in my "sump".
